Yellow, Orange, Purple and Red

Every once in awhile, a change of view is what we need. And like how I needed a change of scenery, these 4 people brought a breathe of fresh air and relief, and brought vibrant colors through clerkship and would probably be my lifeline throughout life.

Aizah, a friend I’d relate to the color yellow. Yellow - beautiful and vibrant soul. She’s one the most easy going and enthusiastic persons I know who is very animated and bubbly. She’s also one of the kindest persons that I know that at times people take advantage of her which actually pisses me off. And despite her flaws you really just can’t help but be drawn to her. Her vibrance just radiates.

Melzar is orange. Another warm and radiant soul. When I first Melzar, my attention was really caught by how confident and bright this person was. He is one of the people who silently has my back and is very loyal to his friends.  He’s the kind of person who knows how to have fun and at the same time can take full responsibility. I envy these kind of people actually for I am not as warm and as fun. But hey, I’m his friend and somehow a little of his personality has blended into mine.

Den is purple. A tender, compassionate and reliable person. We’ve been group-mates before and he’s one of the people whom you can turn to in need. During clerkship he’s been a solid support to me as my assistant leader. He has a lot of love to share and I’m one of the lucky people to receive his love. His honesty and openness inspires me to be like him, honest and open. He has a very giving soul who’s willing to go beyond for people and things that he loves.

Lochelle is red. Not because her favorite lipstick shade, which actually looks very well on her but because she’s a very passionate, fiery and warm person. Throughout med school, I only got close to her in our last year. And though I’m a person who’s hard to befriend, Loch has found a place in my heart in this short period of time. She may come too strong at times, but she has lend me strength that I needed and gave me comfort when I needed the most.

Clerkship has indeed changed a lot of things. A lot of people has touched my heart. And these four people, my “putok-batok” team, my co-“Hep A/Hep B” patrons, my post endorsement Manang’s breakfast team, I’ll forever be grateful for and treasure. I’m not saying that my other group mates didn’t touch my heart nor am I saying that I’m not grateful to them. I love them too and I’m thankful to them too. Every friendship and people I found are my treasures that I’ll forever hold in my heart.
